Suleymaniye Mosque (Suleymaniye Cami)

The Suleymaniye Mosque is a great example of the rich religious heritage in Istanbul. This imperial mosque is situated in the famous Third Hill in Istanbul and is considered to be the second biggest mosque in the area.

The Suleymaniye Mosque will definitely impress you with its original architectural design inspired by the Ottoman period. It was constructed during the 16th century and from that moment on it has always been a preferred place to visit either for tourists or for prayers.

The complex of the Suleymaniye Mosque includes also a large garden where two mausoleums and the tombs of Sultan Suleiman and his family are placed. Just outside the mosque can be found the tomb of the famous Sinan architect.

The Sulaymaniye Mosque is opened daily from 9:30am - 4:30pm except prayer times
