The Basilica Cistern was built in the 6th century during the Byzantine reign. It has been several times restored as in 1987 it was opened for visitors. From that moment on it has been attracting tourists from all over the world.

The Basilica Cistern is opened daily from 09:00 am to 17:30 pm

The entrance fee is 10 TL for foreign visitors and 3 TL for Turkish visitors
